WIPpet Wednesday
Hello Everyone,

It is WIPpet Wednesday and first of all many thanks to Emily Witt who initiated this WIPpet gathering.  Now it is  time for me to share the books I have read, the books I am reading, and what I plan to read in the future and my WIPpet for this week.

So, here goes:

  • What have I read?

Madness & Obsession by Yolanda Renèe.   This is the third book in Renèe trilogy and based on locations in Alaska. The entire Thriller trilogy is well-crafted. You can read my book reviews on all three books at http://patgarciabookreviews, http://bookreviewsbypatgarcia.blogspot.de,

http://pat.garcia.over-blog.com/2016/05/murder-obsession-by-yolanda-renee-0.html

  • What am I reading?

The Sign of the Green Dragon by C. Lee Mckenzie.

  • What do I plan to read next?

I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne, Runaway Man by David Handler, and The Miracle of Small Things by Guilie Castillo Oriard. I may push back David Handler due to my reading authors that are supported by agents I would like to submit my manuscript to in September.

Background: I am picking up where I left off with Daniel and Maria who happens to be the peacemaker between Daniel and Phoebe.

My WIPpet consists of 27 paragraphs and I did a mathematical formula of 25+ 2 =27.

WIPpet is below.

"Boss, what did Phoebe do to upset you so much that she has decided to quit? How could anything go wrong? She was only in your office five minutes."

"She walked in here with an excuse already on her lips about being late."

"Did you listen to it?"

"No, I didn't. I’m tired of her excuses."

"One minute, Boss. Back up a little. How many times have Phoebe been late for a meeting with you?"

"I don't know, Maria."

"Well, I know. She’s never been late. She's punctual to the tee when it concerns your meetings. But, you’ve been late for every meeting that you've had me schedule with her."

"Okay, Maria, so I overreacted. Is that what you're trying to say?"

"You've just said it yourself, Boss."

"Maria, be happy that you're my personal admin and friend."

"Is that a threat? You can always get someone else, like Tammy."

"Now, don't go starting.... Listen, I'm sorry, Maria. This morning, I seem to be doing everything wrong."

"Apology accepted. So what got your goat with Phoebe?"

"Well, she said that she'd had an unavoidable incident or something like that and I asked if that was more important than my meeting."

"And what did she say?"

"She said yes it was, and her tone made me feel like some wet behind the ears puppy. That's when I told her to get out and come back tomorrow with an answer."

"Oh, Daniel, you and Phoebe are unique.  I've never seen two people out to destroy each other like I'm witnessing between you and her. Did it ever cross your mind that it could have been because of the children? After all, she has eight of them. And the boys are four-year-old, quadruplets, who are curious, and adventurous!"

"No, to be quite honest with you,"

"Maybe, you're fighting some kind of feeling for Phoebe, and she may be doing the same with you."

"Uh uh. No way. I like my women redheaded or blond or with shoulder length permed black hair and not an afro."

"And not much in the head, either," Maria murmured.

"What did you say?"

"Oh, nothing."

"I'm not interested in Phoebe Ward. She's not my style, She's too..."

"Levelheaded, intelligent, and strong. Right, Boss?"

"Maria, you're trying me this morning.  I don't know why I'm discussing this with you. I need to go. I'll be back around 11:30 a.m."

"Okay.  After all, you don't want to be late. What would Phoebe think?" Maria

said as she fled to her desk, laughing.

That's it for this week.

WIPpet Wednesday
Hello Everyone,

It is WIPpet Wednesday and time to share the books I have read, the books I am reading, and what I plan to read in the future and my WIPpet for this week.

So, here goes:

  • What have I read?

Roxie Rivera's - Her Russian Protector Series

  • What am I reading?

Madness & Obsession by Yolanda Renèe, and The Sign of the Green Dragon by C. Lee Mckenzie.

  • What do I plan to read next?

I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne, Runaway Man by David Handler, and The Miracle of Small Things by Guilie Castillo Oriard.

For my WIPpet today, out of Just At Dawn, I have 13 lines from Chapter 3, which I am revising. (5-18= 13)

Background Summary: Daniel is back in his office. His personal admin, Maria, is standing at his office door in their executive suite waiting for him to acknowledge her.

My WIPpet:

Maria stood in the doorway of Daniel's office as he was preparing to leave for his meeting in the Marketing Department.  With her arms folded across her, a frown on her forehead, the slightly heavyset woman, shook her head and grimaced when Daniel finally decided to acknowledge her. She liked Phoebe. They had become close despite Daniel's constant bickering.

"Why do I get the feeling you want to give me another one of your sermons?" Daniel asked.

"Maybe, because you know you deserve one, Boss. Why is Phoebe resigning?"

"She's not resigning; she just doesn't know it yet."

"Oh. And how do you plan on stopping her?"

"Good question, Maria. I haven't got an answer to that one yet."

Maria released a sigh.  For the past year and a half, she'd been the conciliator between Daniel and Phoebe. At first, it had only been after the Marketing Meetings, but for the last two months, it had become an everyday thing. Daniel was constantly finding fault with something Phoebe did or he was very quick to misunderstand something Phoebe said.  She knew he was a fair person, but when it came to Phoebe, he saw red.

That’s it, people. Have a great week and I’ll see you next Wednesday.

Shalom Aleichem,

WIPpet Wednesday

Hello Everyone,

It is WIPpet Wednesday. The A to Z Blog Challenge 2016 is over. I am a survivor, and I am bushed.

So, it is now time for me to share the books I have read, the books I am reading, and what I plan to read in the future and my WIPpet for this week.

So, here goes:

  • What have I read?

This week, I have not completed any of the books I am reading.

  • What am I reading?

In preparation for submitting my manuscript, I have started reading authors who gained an agent at the agencies I would like to submit to in September. So, I’m removing Judging by Derek Prince and An Unsuitable Job for a Woman by P.D. James for a short while. I am now reading Alexei by Roxie Rivera. This is a series and I began in the middle of the series and will have to go back to the first book. I am also reading Madness & Obsession by Yolanda Renèe, and The Sign of the Green Dragon by C. Lee Mckenzie.

  • What do I plan to read next?

I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne, Runaway Man by David Handler.

For my snippet today, out of Just At Dawn, I have 16 paragraphs, and I did not do any math, my brain is fried. These are the last paragraphs in chapter Two.

Background Summary: Daniel and Peter are now alone. Kirk has gone to his office. Daniel and Peter talk about the situation. Peter is concerned because he sees something that Daniel doesn’t see.

So here goes:

"You okay, Danny boy?"

"I'm not sure, Pete. I don't know why Phoebe bothers me."

"That's something you are going to have to figure out, because she loves those quads. It's going to hurt her deeply knowing that you are the legal father."

"I agree, and I don't want to hurt her, but I'm hurting each day that I spend away from my boys."

"I know how you feel. I've got two boys of my own and can't imagine them anywhere but with me."

"How could a letter get lost in the Post Office for four years?"

"Weird things happen, Danny boy.  Most of us don't believe it until it happens to us," Peter said.

"I'd never thought that Shirley had the decency to inform me that she'd had quadruplets. Honesty didn't suit her."

"Are you sure, they're yours?"

"Pete, I’m very sure. I've seen their birth records."

"I don't envy you, Man. I hope you both can find an answer that will leave both of you unhurt," Peter said while getting up to leave. "I'll let you know how well lunch goes, but don't expect any miracles."

"Pete?"

"Yes, Danny?"

"What shall I do?"

"That's one question, I can't answer."

"I was afraid you'd say that. I'll see you guys tonight at the club."

That is it for this week.

WIPpet Wednesday
Hello Everyone,

It is WIPpet Wednesday. The A to Z Blog Challenge 2016 is over and I am a survivor, which means I finished successfully.

So, it is now time for me to share the books I have read, the books I am reading, and what I plan to read in the future and my WIPpet for this week.

So, here goes:

  • What have I read?

Memories of Murder, the second book in Yolanda Renèe trilogy. The Alaska scenes are excellently described, and the suspense kept me turning the pages.

  • What am I reading?

Still reading, Judging by Derek Prince and An Unsuitable Job for a Woman by P.D. James.

  • What do I plan to read next?

I Wish You Were Mine by Lauren Layne, Runaway Man by David Handler, Murder and Obsession, the third book in the trilogy by Yolanda Renèe, and The Sign of the Green Dragon by C. Lee McKenzie.

For my snippet today, out of Just At Dawn, I have 9 paragraphs and the math is simple for me today. (4+5=9).

Background Summary: Kirk, Peter, and Daniel are having a meeting in Daniel’s office. Kirk is angry at Daniel for pushing Phoebe to the brink of quitting. Daniel defends himself by mentioning the quads.

So, here goes:

"But she doesn't know that, Daniel," Kirk said. "She doesn't know that you and Shirley were an item. That happened back then in another state and in another time," Kirk said, his voice getting louder.

"Kirk, watch it. I know you don't want to lose Phoebe, but Daniel doesn't either. We'll ask her to think about this when we have lunch with her, okay? Peter said.

" You can tell her no resignation, Peter, whether she thinks about it or not, and I'll talk with her tomorrow about the job and about the quads after she's calmed down. By the way, does she know I'm going to be attending the special event where she's singing at tonight?"

"No, she doesn't," Kirk said. "I was going to inform her this morning after your meeting, but instead she informed me that she was quitting."

"You seem to be taking this better than I thought you would, Daniel," Peter said observing him.

"Let's just say, Ms. Ward hasn't met the real Daniel Cochran yet, if she thinks she can just walk away from me within a minute, she's going to find out differently."

"I need to get back to my office," Kirk said and he looked at Peter and said, "Lunch at 12:30 PM.

"Let's meet at The Grill. It's a five-minute walk, and we'll have more time to talk. I'm sure Phoebe has some new pics of the kids."

"Fine with me," Kirk said. "The Grill it is," and he left Peter and Daniel sitting in

Daniel's office alone.

Have a great rest of the week.
