The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will rejoice over you with singing.
God sings!
A mighty statement made by a mighty humble man at the beginning of a powerful weekend. Unlimited, the youth church from the C 3 Church Hanau was the kick off for a weekend of good times with Jeff Crabtree.
The weekend, the symbol for good vibes, good music, good company, good feelings. good talk, good food, good times. Consisting of 76 hours, starting with Friday afternoon, the weekend is the most loved time of the week. We usually start planning it on Monday morning and the tension builds up to Friday at the close of business or the close of school.
It was amazing to see this combination of weekend with good times, good food, good company, good music, good feelings, good talk and good vibes combine with the great teaching done by Jeff Crabtree. It changed the insights and perspectives of all of the participants who attended. Starting with the worship music conducted excellently by the Unlimited Worship Band to the fact that Jeff led us into the challenge to find the music of our generation and sing it, people of all ages from eight to eighty were captured and challenged to break the traditonal mind sets that have kept so many of them down.
Saturday morning at ten, Jeff continued, and using one of my Pastor's favourite words, with a 'hammer' teaching on music, making us aware of how important music relates to the interpretation of life. Taking us through a musical scala of the senses, from hearing, to seeing, to touching, to feeling, to tasting. Yes, tasting! I believe you can taste music and it gives up a certain aroma that tingle your senses. For some the mind was opened to see that the world created by the music we bring from our hearts, lift people into their own alternative world where they find and relate to God. What a beautiful feeling! What an honor to be among those chosen to prepare people to enter into such an encounter with him.
And they sang a new song; shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful song; I will sing of your love and justice to you O LORD, I will sing praise; I will extol the LORD at all times his praise will always be on my lips;it is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High; are all declarations that God sings and He loves it when we enter his gates with songs from our heart.
As I went home on Saturday evening three sentences remained stuck in my brain, challenging me to continue to move forward on my journey of life, and live out the divine purpose that God has designated for my life: "Find the music of your generation and sing it; Don't settle into tradition because tradition kills the Spirit, and Breakthrough people - those people that persevere and hold on, hoping against hope, their faith in the God who makes the impossible, possible makes them press on and win the prize.
Thanks Jeff. You were a ball of light that shone down into our weekend and gave us good feelings, good vibes, good talk, good food, good company, good times and good music.
As always, you're simply the best!
Schalom,
Pat Garcia Schaack
