I had the honor of participating in an archeological dig, last year. It was amazing for me. The sun was shining; the sky, clear, and then it happened. This picture reminds me of how life changes. Suddenly, the challenges come upon us. They appear quickly just like this dark cloud.
Known for its mountainous territory, Italy is for me one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Southern Italy has grown in my heart. However, let us move on to today’s photos. I have two for you of Verona. I had the golden opportunity to see Turandot in the opened-air arena of Verona. When I got there, the arena was filling, and believe me when I say; every seat was taken before Turandot began. I was sitting high, directly across from the large construction reaching toward the Heaven. When I looked at it, I thought I had been transported back in time. The first photo shows the arena at its finest against the backdrop of the sky. Unfortunately, I could not get a snapshot without people walking across my view. Verona is for me the city of music. Of course, the Mailander would probably disagree.
In the year 2008, I had the privilege of driving from Monterey, California to the East Coast of the United States. We took six and one-half weeks, and I showed my husband an America that you can only see through the eyes of someone who loves the country. It was a beautiful drive. We visited Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia and only drove through some other states that were equally fascinating to see from the highway.
This is a picture of the sky that hangs over Illinois.
One of the most beautiful things to do is walk up a mountain. I have had the privilege of doing that in Austria and in Italy.
The picture above shows the sky as I walked a narrow path upward in Austria while in Matrei an der Brenner. I felt as if I was walking up to the clouds.
I have joined the Skywatch Group so that I can re-awaken my blog Wind, Rain, Winding Roads, & Sunshine, the By-Ways of Life. Posting is done once a week on Fridays, and I hope you will enjoy my thoughts about the photos I take of the Heaven above me as I travel throughout the world. So, the picture is above and below are my thoughts.
Walking up a path that leads to a Gasthaus upon a small mountain in Wiesbaden- Frauenstein, Germany, I noticed how the clouds were forming in the sky. It was revealing. Having been a sky watcher since I was a little child, cloud formations have always spoken to me and so was it on this beautiful day.
As I watched the movement, I saw the child in me, from years ago, observing the Heaven with fascination.
