WIPpet Wednesday

Hi Everyone,

I am finally getting the hang of WIPpet Wednesday. Today I have posted 21 paragraphs (10+2+2+0+1+6) from my manuscript that I am currently working on in Wattpad. It is still in rough draft form. Revision and corrections will take place later.

These paragraphs come from the first chapter. Phoebe is a woman of color who has adopted quadruplets and four girls and a homeless woman whom they call Granny. She also works and she sings and gives concerts.

  1. What am I currently reading?
  1. Writing In Flow – almost finished and I would recommend it to every writer.
  2. Shifting – by Jones and Shorter-Gooden – Almost finished.
  3. Too Heavy A Yoke by Walker-Barnes – Almost finished.
  1. What have I finished reading?

Two weeks ago, I discovered David Handler and his crime series with Berger & Mitry. The first book caught me up in his world. There are ten books out on the series and I have read every one of them. Lost some sleep reading them but they were too exciting to put down.

  1. What do I plan to read next?

David Handler’s eleventh book featuring Berger & Mitry is coming out February 23rd and I have already preordered it for my iPad to read next.

My WIPpet is below.

Daniel paced up and down in his office on the fifth floor before the huge window that looked out over the parking lot. Every now and then he would look to see if Phoebe's car had arrived. He wanted to talk to her before he went to the Social Worker's office. That he was the father of the quads was something he did not relish telling her, but he wanted her to know, even though he thought she had an inexplicable disliked for him. She was a mystery to him. For some reason, he and she did not get along at all, and he had even thought of firing her.

His phone buzzed him, and he stopped his pacing to answer it.

"Yes, Maria. What is it?"

"Ms. Whitfield to see you, sir."

"Send her in and find out what's keeping Phoebe Ward. She should have been in my office fifteen minutes ago."

"Will do," Maria said.

Daniel sat down behind his desk. He’d heard that Tammy Whitfield had set out to get him, and at the moment, he was giving it some serious thought. When he got custody of his boys, he would need a woman in the house, and Tammy's beauty appealed to his senses. Surely, she can be a mother for my boys as well as my bedmate.

"What can I do for you, Tammy?"

"She's late again, huh?"

"Whom are you talking about?"

“Phoebe. Maria told me.”

“And why would Maria tell you what’s going on in my office?”

"Cause I asked her, Daniel. Don’t be mad." Tammy said, answering his inquiring look.

" Well, stop dipping into matters that don’t concern you. Phoebe is my problem. What can I do for you?"

"I thought about picking up two steaks and making a salad tonight, and if you're nice, a massage will be included."

"I'd love to come. I need a good massage, but not tonight."

"Another date?"

"Another appointment that I can't miss. I'll talk to you about it one day."

"Promise?" Tammy said with a pout on her face.

"Promise. Just give me time to figure it all out."

That's it for this week. See you at the next WIPpet.
